European style poly drums have increased quite a bit over the years , especially among exporters of fruit juices and other foods. Since the drums have deep inset lids and no lifting chime, they are typically man handled from overseas containers. Obviously man handling a drum is a no no but the way these containers are designed, your options for handling them is limited. 99% of the drum lifters on the market were not created for this style drum simply because of the bottom and top taper. The process is just as cut and dry as you see it here. Drive in, lift up and move the drum. Of course this unit is set up to handle 2 drums at a time but they also make models to lift one drums as well as smaller 35 gallon drums if needed.
