• Because this drum manipulator does not require a floor receptacle, it can transport drums and operate at any location within a work area.

This design is well suited for situations where the manipulator is needed at multiple locations within a facility, such as drum-to-drum transfers in a repackaging room.

    • Utilizes a side-mounting drum cradle that keeps the drum opening accessible throughout the tilting process.
    • Ideal for special packaging and handling applications that call for maintaining the drum opening in a well-defined area throughout the tipping process.
    • This model is also well suited for applications where the opening of the discharging drum is fitted with a unique fixture that may need to be aligned and/or docked to a receiving vessel or container
    • Robust design allows for 100 kg drum weights.
    • Highly mobile while maintaining a small footprint.

  • This drum manipulator does not require a floor receptacle or any installation procedures, making it easy to transport drums and operate at any location within a work area.

This versatile design and its larger footprint are well suited for situations where the manipulator is needed at multiple locations within a facility, such as drum-to-drum transfer stations in a repackaging room.

The integrated ventilation system can be used to maintain dust and vapor control during the material transfer.

  • In many dispensing facilities, dust collection and air filtration are challenging because a local house exhaust connection may not be available in certain working areas. For others, venting highly potent compounds through the house ventilation is simply not desirable.

EHS has partnered with Applied Engineering Controls (AEC) to offer a portable exhaust supply air-filtration unit that provides local dust collection and air filtration.

The AEC Portable Ventilation Unit >> is a hand-truck type unit that provides high-velocity, high-flow dust collection for local operations. The unit is explosion-proof, and can be available in multiple capacities. It’s designed to work with the EHS ventilation sleeve and dust collection systems for ultimate performance.

  • The ventilation sleeve is harnessed to a transport cart in the portable ventilation system to provide local dust control for dispensing operations.

    • The sleeve is mounted on a vertical mast and can be positioned directly above a receiving drum or vessel to provide local dust control during the transfer process. The sleeve can also be rotated, within limitations, to provide accessibility to the receiving drum.
    • For weighing operations where the ventilation sleeve can’t rest any weight on the top of the receiving drum, this configuration allows the sleeve to suspend above the drum. The drum liner of the receiving drum can be pulled up and around the sleeve to improve containment (see photo).

    • The sleeve is mounted on a vertical mast and can be positioned directly above a receiving drum or vessel to provide local dust control during the transfer process. The sleeve can also be rotated out of the way to provide accessibility to the receiving drum.

  • Customize your work area by introducing a pneumatically controlled variable height feature, this drum manipulator can serve vessels, hoppers, and bins that vary in height from 45 to 80 inches. The Variable Height Drum Manipulator provides an ergonomic means of dumping heavy drums into a variety of applications. It is fully portable and yet maintains a small footprint

Multiple applications can be served by one drum lifter using this docking feature.

Simple up and down control levers that can be operated from either side of the machine provide the operator with fine-tuned control of the drum discharging height and tilting angle.

  • The post-mounted design of this drum manipulator utilizes a “docking” mechanism as its primary source of support, resulting in a very small footprint that’s appropriate for many applications.

    • A support rod (located on the vertical stationary frame of the manipulator) drops into a flush-mounted floor receptacle (installed in the floor near the vessel opening) so a single manipulator can serve multiple vessels and operate in tight working areas.
    • The docking feature eliminates the need for a large counter-weighted frame or complex set-up operation. The manipulator is simply rolled into position and docked in place (see video).
    • Cost savings can be achieved as this design allows one drum manipulator to serve multiple vessels, by installing a floor receptacle at each application.
    • Can be combined with the ventilation sleeve to create a drum charging system that controls dust and vapor while also addressing the ergonomic risks of this intricate process.
