All mechanical automatic clamping mechanisms handle from one to four drums at a time without any hydraulic or electrical connections to the lift truck. Ideal for palletizing drums or unloading trailers. Simply position the center guide over the four drums, lower and lift. Once the drums are gripped, the clamping mechanisms safely secure the drums in place for transportation over dock plates and other unlevel surfaces.

To release the drums, fully lower the drums onto a pallet
or floor then elevate the center guide upward.

Preventive Maintenance & Reconditioning Programs for Drum Pickers

Designed to provide our customers with a scheduled maintenance program to insure ultimate performance and long life.Aside from required visual inspections, belt replacement and monthly lubrication, the clamping assembly(s) or heads should have a scheduled preventive maintenance service. The intervals between services is dependent on usage, but should be done at least annually.

HOW IT WORKS AND WHAT IT COSTS:

· Customers will be notified of their next scheduled p.m. service.
· Upon approval, a loaner head(s) will be shipped for the customer for use while customers head(s) are being serviced. (Heads are generally shipped: UPS)
· Customers then return the head(s) to be serviced in the same carton that has a return authorization number affixed to it. (see instructions below for clamping head removal from the mast.)
· Upon receipt, the customer will be notified of the exact cost of the service for prior approval. Costs are determined by the required parts needed, labor and all freight or UPS charges. The use of the loaner heads is free of charge.
· Upon completion, the serviced heads are returned to the customer, and the swap procedure is reversed with the loaner heads being returned to the factory.

SCOPE OF WORK TO BE PERFORMED:

· Inspection and disassembly of clamping mechanism.
· Clean or sandblast and repaint all parts as required.
· Replace springs, cotter pins, or any worn parts as necessary.
· Reassemble clamping mechanism and lubricate.

If requested the entire attachment can be shipped to the factory to have the p.m. service performed or for complete refurbishment. Attachment loaners are also available at no charge. Due to the heavier weight of the attachments shipping is done via common carrier, and is more costly than UPS. TO REMOVE CLAMPING ASSEMBLY FROM MAST:

All Eagle-Grip™ clamping assemblies (heads) are designed to be easily removed from the masts in seconds and without tools. To remove the head assembly pull the hair pin clip (item #28) from the adjustment pin (item #23). Lift slightly on the head assembly and remove the adjustment pin (item #23). Slide the complete assembly out of the mast and reverse the process with the replacement head.

All Eagle-Grip™ attachments can be equipped with custom load cells and indicators to providing a self contained means of weighing single drums using a lift truck or stacker. There are no external connections to the lift truck besides the OSHA safety chain.The Eagle-Grip™ 1 & 2 Series attachments are recommended for most industrial weighing and drum handling safety applications.

The Eagle-Grip™ 3 & 4 Series attachments are necessary for high volume handling and when intrinsically safe weighing is required for hazardous areas.

Attachments with intrinsically safe weighing systems are provided with non-sparking jaws and heavy belts to support the lower third of the drum.Eagle-Grip™ attachments are also available for weighing up to two drums at a time. These models require the indicator to be mounted to the overhead guard of the lift truck. Weights for each drum can be stored and downloaded to a computer through the indicator. An optional label printer provides a means of tracking product, printing company information, weights and more.
